Jay received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana where he was a senator for the undergraduate student government. He attended law school at SMU where he was a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship and a staff editor of the Science and Technology Law Review. While in law school Jay was a volunteer at the Innocence Project of Texas and an intern in the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group’s legal department. He was also able to intern for Judges on the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas and the Arkansas Court of Appeals.
