Nasopharyngeal Cancer

Nasopharyngeal cancer affects the tissues of the nasopharynx, which is the upper part of the throat just behind the nose.

The cancer usually begins in the squamous cells that line the part of the throat located right behind the mouth.

This type of cancer can be caused by a number of things, such as environmental exposures. Nasopharyngeal cancer has also been linked to consistent exposure to formaldehyde, particularly in workplace environments where the formaldehyde is used to manufacture products, including textile mills such as carpet manufacturing, pressed wood factories, paint factory, fabric manufacturing, and more.
