Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma is a group of cancers
of the immune system, including both B-Cell and T-cell types of
lymphoma. Recent research has shown that this group of cancers can
be caused by certain environmental exposures in some individuals.
Other causes can include a compromised immune system and certain
types of infections. Many cases of NHL may be caused by a combination
of environmental exposures to chemicals, together with one or more
infections or other immune system problems.
Lung cancer is a disease that can be caused by occupational
exposures to cancer-causing chemicals. Allen Stewart, P.C. is a
law firm dedicated to representing individuals who have cancer caused
by occupational and environmental chemical exposures. Workers in
many occupations are exposed to cancer causing chemicals, and those
exposures often occur without the worker ever knowing that they
were working with or around cancer- causing materials. Allen Stewart,
P.C. represents lung cancer victims exposed to cancer-causing chemicals
in the workplace. Occupations at high risk for lung cancer from
chemical exposures include construction trades, boilermakers, shipyard
workers, railroad workers, U.S. Navy veterans and U.S. Coast Guard
veterans. Even if a lung cancer victim smoked cigarettes, that person
may still be entitled to receive compensation if workplace chemicals
contributed to cause their lung cancer.
Mesothelioma is a cancer typically found in the lining of the lung,
which is caused by exposure to asbestos fibers or dust and strikes
persons who worked with asbestos products. This type of lung cancer
usually develops many years after the patient was exposed to asbestos.
Manufacturers of products that contained asbestos and the owners
of premises where asbestos products were used generally knew about
the hazards of asbestos, but they failed to protect workers.
