Of the 14, 12 companies voluntarily admitted to using diesel fuel in their fracking fluids. None of the companies had applied for a permit in any state.
The drilling companies argue that no link exists between fracking and the environmental issues coming to light in heavily fracked areas, like well water so contaminated with methane gas that you can set it on fire. An increasing number of lawsuits filed against drilling companies across the nation indicate that the public just isn’t buying it anymore.
